Peace Isn’t Somewhere Else

On finding peace.
We spend so much of our lives thinking peace is somewhere else
We think joy is only in a different season
But there’s always another thing we need
Recently God has been teaching me that peace isn’t on this imagined other side of the problem
Peace is in Him
Peace is not in having all the answers
Peace is not knowing where the whole road will lead
Peace is not in getting everything I hoped for
Peace is in Him
I’ve learned that life can be beautiful even when it doesn’t fit my vision
And a day can be good even when it doesn’t go my way
The same God who opens doors for me doesn’t leave when they sometimes remain closed
Peace in the storm is the proof the peace is real. Beautiful.

Peace is either here, in us—that “ not as the world gives” kind of peace Jesus promised that isn’t dependent on anybody or anything that has a beginning and an end in this world… That peace only Christ can give—-that goes beyond all human mental capacity to comprehend – or it isn’t anywhere at all.
